Being a PM is more than just shipping features to solve customer problems. It’s also about building & growing the team around you.
- A great PM helps others grow in their careers. This is because of the outsized leverage PMs from working with numerous disciplines and having to influence w/o authority day-in/out.
- A great PM helps a team navigate ambiguity in uncertain and tough times (layoffs, change of strategy, etc)
- A great PM is a role model for the organization. PMs are leaders and help set the tone for how to think, talk, and act.
